We all know the world has changed dramatically in the 21st century. The opportunities that defined past generations and steered their course through life (aka "The American Dream") just aren't out there for us anymore.

Today, 54% of college graduates regret choosing to invest in a degree, over 70% of Americans detest their jobs (part of why they change jobs every 20 months on average), and 2 out of 3 of Americans will never be able to stop working and retire.

But what are we supposed to do? Is there an alternative to the "system of systems" we live in: school, college (debt), job, different job, more different jobs, 401K/pension, retire (hopefully but probably not)? And if there is an alternative can it really work for everyone regardless of where they currently are in the system? Is there something else out there that works equally well for the 18-year-old deciding whether or not to go to college, the 45-year-old questioning his/her career path, the 65-year-old who is way short of being able to retire, and anyone else feeling dazed and confused in the modern world?

In Unlock Your Potential, author and entrepreneur Jeff Lerner answers those questions with a resounding YES! He shows readers how the failings of our education, employment, and retirement systems have opened doors most people didn't even know exist. And, most important, he'll show YOU how to step through those doors—where they exist, how they work, what it takes to go through them, and what's on the other side.

Jeff is the founder and Chief Vision Officer of ENTRE Institute, the world’s fastest growing education company and the first institute of higher learning dedicated to entrepreneurialism. Now, he is sharing his story and lessons learned from his own rags-to-riches journey from a broke musician to a $100 million entrepreneur. In this book, you'll discover “digital real estate—an asset that generates income, builds wealth, and supports any life you choose to live—along with strategies any employee, business owner, retiree, child, etc. can use to escape the broken system and create their dream life in the modern world.

Let Unlock Your Potential serve as the blueprint: a master key to unlocking your full potential and living a life no one told you was possible. Herein lies the key for anyone, anywhere in the world to escape the broken system and create a quality of life that was unimaginable a generation ago.

Empathy Works: The Key to Competitive Advantage in the New Era of Work

The Future of Work has arrived. And it’s powered by empathy.

We are in a period of change. We need to think and act differently. The new world of work is significantly more digitized and decentralized than before―a transformation accelerated by the COVID-19 crisis. We need to orient ourselves differently to be successful, shifting from transactional to human-centric management, mindsets, and methods to deal with the faster pace of business developments, continuing uncertainties, more complex issues, and an increase in multidimensional projects.

In Empathy Works, work futurist, international keynote speaker, popular online course instructor and workforce consultant Sophie Wade shows you why empathy is a critical corporate value, mindset, and skill for improving engagement and productivity, and achieving sustained growth as we emerge from the pandemic. Sharing data and insights from brain science, organizational psychology, as well as real situations, stories, and solutions from around the world, Wade guides you through the steps to cultivate empathy throughout both the Customer Journey and the Employee Journey―encompassing culture and leadership, managing distributed workers, fostering effective sales teams, and bridging generations.

You’ll learn how to integrate empathy habits into management practices and daily operations, nurturing customer experiences empowered by human-centric connection and understanding. You will be able to gain sustainable competitive advantage by cultivating a more supportive, meaningful, and positive workplace as you manage, motivate, and enhance team performance and business results.

An invaluable resource for both established and rising executives and managers, Empathy Works provides you with essential insights and knowledge to adapt, thrive, and grow―no matter what the future holds.

CEO Excellence: The Six Mindsets That Distinguish the Best Leaders from the Rest

From the world’s most influential management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, an insight-packed, revelatory look at how the best CEOs do their jobs based on extensive interviews with today’s most successful corporate leaders—including chiefs at Netflix, JPMorgan Chase, General Motors, and Sony.

Being a CEO at any of the world’s largest companies is among the most challenging roles in business. Billions, and even trillions, are at stake—and the fates of tens of thousands of employees often hang in the balance. Yet, even when “can’t miss” high-achievers win the top job, very few excel. Thirty percent of Fortune 500 CEOs last fewer than three years, and two out of five new CEOs are perceived to be failing within eighteen months.

For those who shoulder the burden of being the one on whom everyone counts, a manual for excellence is sorely needed.

To identify the 21st century’s best CEOs, the authors of CEO Excellence started with a pool of over 2400 public company CEOs. Extensive screening distilled that group into an elite corps, sixty-seven of whom agreed to in-depth, multi-hour interviews. Among those sharing their views: Jamie Dimon (JPMorgan Chase), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Reed Hastings (Netflix), Kazuo Hirai (Sony), Ken Chenault (American Express), Mary Barra (GM), and Peter Brabeck-Letmathe (Nestlé).

What came out of those frank, no-holds-barred conversations is a rich array of mindsets and actions that deliver outsized performance. Compelling, practical, and unprecedented in scope, CEO Excellence is a treasure trove of wisdom from today’s most elite business leaders.

Review

Wall Street Journal Bestseller

“CEO Excellence pulls back the curtain on how some of the world’s greatest business leaders have achieved success. Readers from the classroom to the boardroom will find valuable lessons they can apply to their own careers.”
—Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO, and cofounder of Blackstone

“McKinsey’s access to the best corporate CEOs has produced a remarkable and highly readable analysis of what makes leaders’ jobs so difficult in this age of constant social media focus, shareholder activism, great board involvement, enhanced ESG needs, growing global challenges, and increased government oversight. Any smart CEO looking to not just survive but thrive would do well to read and heed this book’s insights.”
—David Rubenstein, co-founder and co-executive chairman of The Carlyle Group and New York Times bestselling author of How to Lead

“Interviews CEOs (refreshingly, not just the usual suspects), finds out what makes them tick, and formulates a set of maxims and observations…A satisfying handbook for future moguls.”
—Kirkus Reviews

"Leadership is something you learn first by watching and then by doing—and the best leaders never stop learning, which is why this is a book for those who want to sharpen their skills in leading organizations to higher levels."
The average human lifespan is absurdly, insultingly brief. Assuming you live to be eighty, you have just over four thousand weeks.

Nobody needs telling there isn’t enough time. We’re obsessed with our lengthening to-do lists, our overfilled inboxes, work-life balance, and the ceaseless battle against distraction; and we’re deluged with advice on becoming more productive and efficient, and “life hacks” to optimize our days. But such techniques often end up making things worse. The sense of anxious hurry grows more intense, and still the most meaningful parts of life seem to lie just beyond the horizon. Still, we rarely make the connection between our daily struggles with time and the ultimate time management problem: the challenge of how best to use our four thousand weeks.

Drawing on the insights of both ancient and contemporary philosophers, psychologists, and spiritual teachers, Oliver Burkeman delivers an entertaining, humorous, practical, and ultimately profound guide to time and time management. Rejecting the futile modern fixation on “getting everything done,” Four Thousand Weeks introduces readers to tools for constructing a meaningful life by embracing finitude, showing how many of the unhelpful ways we’ve come to think about time aren’t inescapable, unchanging truths, but choices we’ve made as individuals and as a society―and that we could do things differently.

Review

“The best organizations co-elevate—that is, their people and teams support one another in ways that transform individual relationships and entire organizations. Jake Jacobs knows and embraces this idea. The concepts and tools in Leverage Change are a powerful path to creating this new, proven approach to achieving outstanding results. —Keith Ferrazzi, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Leading Without Authority

“Who needs help dealing with the constant change that is happening in our lives, our organizations, and our world? We all do! Leverage Change is a much needed guide for dealing with change, no matter when or where it appears. Robert Jacobs’s 8 Levers will help you adjust the ways you already manage change to make them work better for you. Read this book, embrace change, and step into a more secure future!” —Ken and Margie Blanchard, cofounders of The Ken Blanchard Companies® and coauthors of Leading at a Higher Level

“Most companies realize that to be competitive in the marketplace requires new and innovative technologies, business models, services, products, and solutions. Those who create this kind of value for customers the fastest win! Smart leaders understand that to achieve this value creation requires that they overcome fixed status quo mindsets. They must find ways to help those they manage change meaningfully and quickly. Jake’s ingenious change levers help us do just that. His methodology is transformational. Starting now, all organizations that are serious about change need to teach Jake’s levers to their leaders, starting with the C-suite!” —Susan Schmitt, Chief HR Officer, Applied Materials

“Now more than ever, we need healing when it comes to relationships between residents and police. Jake Jacob’s Leverage Change is the perfect tool for handling pressure-filled, high-stakes, anxiety-ridden situations. This book helps people get things done in a way that fosters honesty, equity, fairness, and respect. Communities facing this challenge can find a way forward by following the techniques and tools in these pages.” —Jessie Halladay, leader, The Louisville Synergy Project to Further Strengthen Resident/Police Relationships

“My work is to convene global populations of change-makers. What I’ve seen is that the world is facing massive problems that are too complex for any one ‘best solution.’ What we need are many ‘best solutions’ to address the issues concerning different ages, cultures, and communities. That’s what Jake Jacobs’s book Leverage Change provides. He gives us the tools to work together in new and inventive ways. Read this book, use what you learn, and be confident you can make the world a better place.” —Arielle T. Sullivan, facilitator for World Unity Week and the Unity and Peace Global Convergence

Andy Grove, founder and former CEO of Intel shares his strategy for success as he takes the reader deep inside the workings of a major company in Only the Paranoid Survive.

Under Andy Grove's leadership, Intel became the world's largest chip maker and one of the most admired companies in the world. In Only the Paranoid Survive, Grove reveals his strategy for measuring the nightmare moment every leader dreads--when massive change occurs and a company must, virtually overnight, adapt or fall by the wayside--in a new way.

Grove calls such a moment a Strategic Inflection Point, which can be set off by almost anything: mega-competition, a change in regulations, or a seemingly modest change in technology. When a Strategic Inflection Point hits, the ordinary rules of business go out the window. Yet, managed right, a Strategic Inflection Point can be an opportunity to win in the marketplace and emerge stronger than ever.

Grove underscores his message by examining his own record of success and failure, including how he navigated the events of the Pentium flaw, which threatened Intel's reputation in 1994, and how he has dealt with the explosions in growth of the Internet. The work of a lifetime, Only the Paranoid Survive is a classic of managerial and leadership skills.

"This book is about one super-important concept. You must learn about Strategic Inflection Points, because sooner or later you are going to live through one."
--Steve Jobs, CEO, Pixar Animation Studios

"Andy explains--with modesty that cannot conceal his brilliance, how he has led Intel through changes and challenges that many companies could not cope with...The country will benefit from his vision."
