If you are the person for whom all diets fail, the one that always gets the wrong results when everyone else is seeing success in modifying their diets and lifestyles, this book gives you the tools to reconstruct YOUR own diet plan based on data gathered from your own body.</p>
<p>Let me explain what this book is not: it’s not a list of foods to eat. It’s not a group of recipes. It’s a book about the science of personalizing nutrition to gain YOUR optimum health. The book goes explodes the cultural myths we’ve developed about nutrition and what is best for ‘everyone’ to eat. There is no Universal Diet. But you CAN determine what foods are optimal for you. And, the data you gather about yourself will explain a lot about why ‘XYZ diets’ didn’t work for you in the past. This is about you – not somebody else. The science of you.</p>
<p>It will take some work on your part, but it will be worth it. The authors lay out the program, (backed by their research findings). You basically use a blood glucose monitor to test your personal reactions to what you eat in a methodical fashion. BG monitors are inexpensive nowadays, and can be found at big box stores, ordered online, etc. It’s your primary testing tool, and worth every penny. Plus doing your own testing will be so illuminating you may just be able to avoid the big D (diabetes) by following the program.</p>
<p>You will be vastly surprised at what foods do and does not provoke blood sugar spikes. Your findings won’t match up with the Glycemic Index because you are an individual. Based on your own Blood Glucose reactions to foods you normally eat, you will clearly see what foods your body handles very well and what foods your body handles poorly. You can then choose modify your individual eating plan to include the optimal foods and either reduce or eliminate the foods your body handles poorly. It won’t be like anyone else’s food plan. It will be YOUR eating plan, based on your own data.</p>
<p>Using the information in this book you are essentially running an experiment of one. If done properly, after a couple of weeks of charting what you eat, you’ll have a wealth of information about your own body reactions to food. You now have the tools and data to really prove what works best for your body, not what works best for the rest of the world. It’s not a simple process, but this book may just be the best investment you’ll ever make in your own health.</p>
