Sir John Templeton, legendary investor, was famous for saying, "The four most dangerous words in investing are, 'This time it's different.'" He knew that though history doesn't repeat, not exactly, history is an excellent guide for investors.

In Markets Never Forget But People Do: How Your Memory Is Costing You Money and Why This Time Isn't Different, long-time Forbes columnist, CEO of Fisher Investments, and 4-time New York Times bestselling author Ken Fisher shows how and why investors' memories fail them―and how costly that can be. More important, he shows steps investors can take to begin reducing errors they repeatedly make. The past is never indicative of the future, but history can be one powerful guide in shaping forward looking expectations. Readers can learn how to see the world more clearly―and learn to make fewer errors―by understanding just a bit of investing past.

Reviews

Another excellent book by Ken Fisher. By pointing to historical patterns, Ken shows why the last thing you need to fear is a bear market, especially if you are investing for growth for the long term. Statistically – investing in the stock market for at least 15 years carries a ZERO chance of losing money — it even beats the long term safety record of investing in a portfolio of all bonds. Ken’s book shows us why, based on past history, investors don’t need to “pull the plug” and get out of the market, every time there is a downward dip, or correction. I have been fully 100% invested in the stock market from 1987 to the present. I have experienced bear market losses in 1987, 1991, 2002 and 2008 — and yet, the stock market always bounces back even higher within a relatively short period of time. My first investment statement back in 1987 read a balance of $487.00. My latest statement read a balance of 7 figures – left of the decimal point. Investment in Capitalism is the “8th Wonder of the World” for getting wealthy.

Discover how your net worth can be worth more

The Ten Roads to Riches takes an engaging and informative look at some of America's most famous (and infamous) modern-day millionaires (and billionaires) and reveals how they found their fortunes. Surprisingly, the super-wealthy usually get there by taking just one of ten possible roads. And now, so can you! Plenty of books tell you how to be frugal and save, but The Ten Roads to Riches tells you how you can, realistically, get super-rich.

Throughout these pages, renowned investment expert and self-made billionaire Ken Fisher highlights amusing anecdotes of individuals who have traveled (or tumbled) down each road, and tells you how to increase your chances of success. Whether it's starting a business, owning real estate, investing wisely, or even marrying very, very well, Fisher will show how some got it right and others got it horribly wrong.

Find out the right questions to ask when starting your own business-the richest road of all

Learn what Mark Cuban, Rupert Murdoch, and rapper Jay-Z have in common, and how you can emulate them

Discover how to avoid high-profile flameouts like the Enron guys and jailed plaintiffs' lawyer Melvyn Weiss

Whether you're just beginning to plan your financial future or well on your way, The Ten Roads to Riches can show you how to gain and, more importantly, maintain the wealth you want.

Reviews

I’ll admit it, I’m a big Ken Fisher fan. Although I’m doing well financially, it took me 15+ years to figure “how” I was going to reach my destination. I often tell people the story of a man who gets in a cab in New York City and when the cab driver asks him where he wants to go, he replies, “My house”.
The point is…all of us know where we want to go (financial independence) but how do we get there? Mr. Fisher’s book is an excellent guide for reviewing the various approaches (routes) to that destination. Mind you, whenever something attempts to be comprehensive, details are minimized. This is not a book about any one specific approach. It is a revelation of “possibilities” and a great reflection of the numerous ways wealth is accumulated in our society.
“How do I get where I want to go?” Ken Fisher reveals several paths that provide oppurtunities and a great deal to consider when planning your “Road to Riches”.

The Only Three Questions That Count: Investing by Knowing What Others Don't

Ken Fisher questions authority. He challenges the conventional wisdom of investing, overturns glib theories with hard facts, and blows up complacent beliefs about money and markets. But the authority he challenges most of all is his own - because challenging yourself, Fisher says, is the key to successful investing.

In today's competitive market environment, the best way to achieve investment success is by knowing something that others don't. But many of us, amateurs and professionals alike, believe we don't or can't know what others don't, so we continue to make market bets based on "conventional wisdom".

Here Fisher debunks the conventional market myths that many of our investment decisions are based upon, and reveals a precise methodology that will allow you to know what others don't. The methodology, which has helped Fisher achieve success throughout his long financial career, is as easy as asking three simple questions. The first will help listeners see things the way they really are. The second will help them see things that other investors often miss. And the third will help them understand their relationship with today's markets. While the questions aren't what one might expect, as they have nothing to do with the market's P/E ratio or interest rate forecasts. They will help listeners make better investment decisions by identifying what they can know, unique to them, that others do not. Most importantly, they'll learn how to use the questions to improve investment performance.

Filled with in-depth insights, expert advice, and engaging anecdotes, The Only Three Questions That Count provides listeners with a dynamic strategy and set of tools that will give them a distinct edge over other investors.
