She points out what practices are most important to protect your site from WordPress vulnerabilities, then goes into tools to secure WordPress user accounts and login screens. Allie covers all the basics about SSL certificates and discusses best practices for keeping WordPress plugins and themes secure. She tells you why spam comments pose a threat to WordPress sites and explains how to prevent and remove them. Allie steps through best practices for making backups, as well as tools for setting up a WordPress firewall. She concludes with steps you can take to make your ecommerce site and your WordPress files more secure.

About the Author

Allie Nimmons went from self-teaching basic code and web design to working as the WP Buffs Community Manager. Allie began her first agency job using WordPress in 2015, then went on to run Pixel Glow Web Design from 2016-2019. She was a speaker ambassador for GoDaddy Pro. Allie currently works as the Community Manager at WP Buffs. Allie loves talking about and connecting through WordPress. This includes attending and speaking at WordPress meetups and WordCamps across the country. Allie is a board member of ShePress. She created and hosts the WP Buffs WordPress tutorial YouTube channel, where she teaches and troubleshoots in bite-sized videos. She hosts the weekly WP AMA series and assists as a co-mentor for the WP Diversity Diversity Speaker Workshops.
